The Fair Needs Your Help!

The Greater San Diego Science & Engineering Fair stimulates interest in science, math, engineering, and computer science for thousands of students in San Diego and Imperial Counties. We strive to encourage and reward academic excellence by promoting literacy and educational enrichment.

In 2018 alone, we will have touched the lives of over 3,000 students as they research, assemble a project, are screened, and finally 600+ students will come to Balboa Park to have their projects judged by over 300 professional scientists, engineers, technology experts, and educators.

Putting on the Science Fair takes an entire year of planning, fundraising, recruiting of judges, screeners, e-STEM experts, and continual supporting of students, teachers, and schools. The Fair does not end with the GSDSEF in March. After our Fair, we participate in the California State Science Fair in Los Angeles and the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).

You can help by being a Volunteer, a Sponsor, a "Friend of GSDSEF", or a Management Committee member!

If this sounds worthwhile to you, please think of ways you can help, not just monetarily but with your presence helping to guide students as they prepare for this great learning experience. FUTURE CAREERS START HERE!

Only with your help can we keep this event going!

For information on becoming a Corporate Sponsor, please see our Sponsor page.

Volunteers need to register in advance and will be given an official name badge to wear during Science Fair Week. Sorry, but we cannot accept walk-on volunteers on Judging Day.
