RESULTS: 2021 Broadcom MASTERS Top 300 - (August 31, 2021)

 

The 2021 Top 300 students,  selected from 1,841 entrants, come from 41 states, plus Guam. 30 finalists will be chosen from this select pool to compete for more than $100,000 in awards and prizes. Finalists will be announced September 14, 2021.

 RESULTS: 2021 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair

 

On May 21st, 2021 the Society for Science and Regeneron announced the Grand Awards of the Regeneron ISEF 2021. This year marked the first time in its more than 70-year history that the competition was held virtually to keep the finalists and their families safe during the ongoing pandemic.

This year the 1,833 Regeneron ISEF 2021 finalists representing 49 states and 64 countries across the world convened virtually for a week of connecting with their peers and global STEM leaders, participating in virtual events and panels, showcasing their talents and competing for $5 million in awards and prizes. 

Seven students from the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair were among the finalists in the ISEF: six qualified through the GSDSEF and one qualified through the California Science and Engineering Fair. For the first time in GSDSEF history, all 7 students won a Grand Award - one 1st Award, one 2nd Award, three 3rd Awards, two 4th Awards.   Additionally, two students won three Special Awards.

Grand Awards are presented in each of the 21 ISEF categories:

  • 1st Award: $5,000
  • 2nd Award: $2,000
  • 3rd Award: $1,000
  • 4th Award: $500

China Association for Science and Technology (CAST)

China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) is the largest organization of scientists and technologists in China. One of its missions is to promote public understanding of science. CAST awards are given to the projects that best reflect the originality and innovation of the students’ work in all scientific disciplines.

The PTOS is a membership-based organization for Patent and Trademark professionals and other interested individuals. REGENERON SCIENCE TALENT SEARCH:

Two San Diego students have been named finalists in the prestigious 2021 Regeneron Science Talent Search.

The talent search is sponsored by the Society for Science & the Public and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc., and is the nation’s oldest science and math competition for high school seniors. It provides students a national stage to present original research and celebrates their hard work and novel discoveries. Scholars were chosen based on their exceptional research skills, commitment to academics, innovative thinking and promise. The top 40 finalists chosen from 1,760 entrants based on their projects’ scientific rigor and their potential to become world-changing scientists and leaders. Each Top 40 finalist receives at least $25,000, and the top 10 awards range from $40,000 to $250,000. Students in the Top 300 and their schools are awarded $2,000 each.

Broadcom MASTERS 2020 Results

The 2020 Broadcom MASTERS had 3,476 applicants from 34 states, plus Puerto Rico from which the top 300 were selected. The top 30 finalists was then chosen from this select pool to compete for more than $100,000 in awards and prizes. 

The top 30 finalists will compete in the first ever Virtual Broadcom MASTERS from October 16-21, participating in team challenges in addition to being judged on their science research projects. The finalists include 14 girls and 16 boys covering 16 states and representing 29 schools. All Top 30 finalists receive a $500 cash award and will compete for over $100,000 in prizes!
