Francis and Naveen were two of over 1200 students from 43 countries competing in the 52nd Annual Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) held in San Jose, CA. We are very proud of our students!


Francis Song, La Jolla High School - Mathematics
"Application of Differential Evolution to the Solution of Differential Equations"
    American Mathematical Society - Karl Menger Awards of Excellence. Third Place Award of $250.
    National Aeronautics and Space Administration - For projects that best relate to NASA's mission. All expense-paid trip to attend the U.S. Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama and a certificate.
    U.S. Air Force -First Award of $3,000. Each winner will receive a medallion, and a certificate of recognition. The teacher of each individual and team, will receive a grant in the amount of $300.
    U.S. Navy & Marine Corps - Scholarship in the amount of $8,000. Scholarships are payable at $2,000 a year for four years. Recipients also receive a certificate signed by the Chief of Naval Research and the Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command and a pewter replica of the Lone Sailor Sculpture from the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C.
    Drexel University - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For projects in the categories of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Medicine and Health and Physics. Scholarship is renewable for up to 5 years pending maintenance of a 3.0 GPA and full-time status. Each scholarship is valued at $73,625. Winners of these scholarships will be given preferential consideration during the application process.
    University California at Berkeley - Full-tuition scholarship, four-year undergraduate scholarships in the amount of $5,000 per year for four years.

Naveen Krishnan, Torrey Pines High School - Behavioral and Social Sciences
"Temporal Constraints on Perceptual Grouping"
    U.S. Army - Award of $3,000, a Certificate of Achievement and a gold medallion
    U.S. Air Force - Second Award of $1,500. Each winner will receive a medallion, and a certificate of recognition. The teacher of each individual and team, will receive a grant in the amount of $300.
