The 60th Annual Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair will be held March 25 - 30, 2014 at the Balboa Park Activity Center (2145 Park Blvd.)

2014 Place Awards Results

Check to see if you are on the "qualified" or "alternate" list for the CA State Science Fair. Those on the list must apply online by the April 1st deadline. You can pick up flyers about CSSF at the Fair's Information Booth.

Broadcom list is now available. Look if you are invited to apply!

Schedule of Events
Tuesday, March 25, 2014
Registration Day
  • Register projects - 1:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Register and setup projects. Get your exhibitor badge and booth number!
  • Sign-up for tours!
  • Purchase your GSDSEF souvenirs.
  • Wednesday, March 26, 2014
    Judging Day
  • Judging - 8:15am - 2:45pm
  • ALL students must be present throughout judging.
  • Dress in business-like attire.
  • Student may bring a foldable chair to use between speaking with judges. Chairs will not be provided.
  • Don't forget to bring your lunch (label it with your name and project number)! Food is NOT available for purchase and you will NOT be permitted to leave.
  • After judging, Student Exhibitors receive free admission to many of the Balboa Park museums and the San Diego Zoo.
  • Thursday, March 27, 2014
    Open to the public and Awards Ceremony
  • Open to the public - 10:00am - 3:00pm
  • Admission and Parking to the Fair are FREE.
  • Student Exhibitors receive free admission to many of the Balboa Park museums and the San Diego Zoo.
  • Awards Ceremony at Viejas Arena, SDSU (formerly Cox Arena). Doors open at 5pm. Ceremony begins at 5:30pm (ends approximately at 8:30pm).
  • No awards will be announced until the ceremony.
  • Friday, March 28, 2014
    Open to the public
  • Open to the public - 10:00am - 3:00pm
  • Admission and Parking to the Fair are FREE.
  • Student Exhibitors receive free admission to many of the Balboa Park museums and the San Diego Zoo.
  • Saturday, March 29, 2014
    Open to Public
  • Open to the public - 10:00am - 4:30pm
  • Admission and Parking to the Fair are FREE.
  • Student Exhibitors receive free admission to many of the Balboa Park museums and the San Diego Zoo.
  • Sunday, March 30, 2014
    Family Day and Closing Day
  • Open to the public - 10am - 3pm
  • Student Exhibitors receive free admission to many of the Balboa Park museums and the San Diego Zoo.
  • Special activities and presentations - View the schedule of events!
  • The entire family is welcome to participate in the activities!
  • Admission and Parking to the Fair are FREE.
  • ALL PROJECTS MUST REMAIN ON DISPLAY UNTIL 3:00PM. NO EXCEPTIONS!
    Tear-Down - Open for student exhibitors and their families - 3:00pm - 4:30pm
  • Note to Exhibitors: When you applied to enter the GSDSEF, you and your parent(s)/guardian(s) agreed to leave your project on display until 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 24. There are no exceptions to this agreement! You (or your representative) are responsible for removing your project. NOTE: PROJECTS NOT REMOVED BY 4:30 PM ON SUNDAY, March 30/b> will be discarded that evening. Notebooks will be emptied of their contents and distributed to schools for re-use. If you canít pick your project up, arrange for someone else to do so. Give that person your badge and a note authorizing removal.
  • All projects must be removed between 3:00pm-4:30pm. No exceptions.
  • Remaining projects will be discarded.
  • Please bring your exhibitor badge as identification to remove your project.

    The Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair is a non-profit 501(c)(3) which operates SOLELY on donations and is run completely by volunteers. We need your assistance in ensuring that this Fair is not the last! Please support the students of San Diego.

    The GSDSEF was well represented at the CA State Science Fair April 15-16, 2013 in Los Angeles!
    Our students garnered a total of 36 regular awards and one special award:
    Junior Division Project of the Year;
    6 - First places;
    2 - Second places;
    8 - Third places;
    7 - Fourth places;
    13 - Honorable Mentions
