SCREENING FORMS NOW AVAILABLE!!! Download either County
or City
The science fair is a tremendous opportunity for learning... and not just about science! Students
use all the skills they have learned to put together a project. Writing, speaking, logic, and
critical thinking all play roles in the completion of a project. Frequently, former exhibitors express
their appreciation for the Fair because "it teaches me about myself and what I can
do. There are no limitiations!"
A Science Fair project is not about building a volcano or making a robot. It's about experimentation,
creativity and discovery. Students pull from many disciplines to complete a project. In the end,
they not only get a sense of pride in their work, but can earn awards,
scholarships and trips. And, in the ever competitive world of college applications, it is a
great plus, because it proves that the student can complete long term goal.
Another great opportunity for students with the GSDSEF is the Student
Advisory Board. It is the honor society of the Fair. Students are proud
to give back to the organization that provided wonderful opportunities to them
with their community service. Find out how to get
your student involved!
Can my student submit a project for screening if it isn't required by their class/school?
YES! The project must meet the guidelines of the Fair to
be considered for review. Requirement by the teacher or a school fair is not required to request
consideration for entrance to the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair.
You can find all the necessary forms right here! If you have
any questions or concerns, just ask! We are here to help and in some cases, point your students
in the direction to get project help.
Screening forms are now available! Download either County
or City School form.
