 To all 7-12 Science, Engineering, and Computer  Teachers in San Diego and Imperial Counties:

 Welcome back to a new school year!
It’s time to  ‘gear-up’ for the 64th, 2018,  Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair!!

In the 63rd GSDSEF we had:

  •  730+ students who participated in the GSDSEF.
  •  8 senior division students who went to the Intel International Science and                       Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, CA.
  • 97 students (grades 7-12) who qualified for the California State Science Fair.
    •  60 grade 7-8 students who were eligible for the Broadcom MASTERS competition.
  • Thanks to all of you who support student inquiry and research in the GSDSEF!

2018 GSDSEF Dates:

Screening: (See School Deadline Lists BELOW)

Balboa Park Activity Center (BPAC): 

Tuesday, March 13th, 2018— Check in and set up projects.
Wednesday, March 14th, 2018— Judging
Thursday, March 15th, 2018 — Awards Ceremony– Place to be determined
Sunday, March 18th,  2018 — Tear Down

A New GSDSEF Website is coming in Fall, 2017!

A new GSDSEF website is now under construction and will be coming soon!  In the meantime, the existing website (gsdsef.org) will be kept up to date with all necessary information= Rules and Regulations, Teacher Checklists, Forms, Scientific Review Committee, etc.

2018 Screening Deadline Dates: 

1. Please check the  Screening Deadline Lists below to make sure your school is included.  If it is not, contact   Steve Rodecker at stevegsdsef@gmail.com immediately to let him know.

  2. The screening deadline dates were randomly assigned this year.  Please plan your school fair or screening  process accordingly.

3. All other screening information will be sent out to science fair teachers/advisors and posted on the GSDSEF website  in September.

We are in need of people to help fill volunteer positions with the Science Fair.

LETTER TO TEACHERS coming SEPTEMBER 2017 outlining procedures for 2018 fair

The 2017 Fair was  held the week of March 14 – March 19 at the Balboa Park Activity Center, 2145 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA, 92101.
It was a great success just ask the 640+ students who participated!
