GSDSEF is held in Balboa Park, in the center of San Diego, a the Activity Center on Park Blvd.

There is something for everyone to do at the 52nd GSDSEF Science Fair –

  • Direct people and traffic.
  • Be a door guard to protect students and projects.
  • Chaperone company tours – Thursday and Friday.
  • “Work the floor” to help students and the public.
  • Watch the equipment outside.
  • Talk with exhibitors and judges.

Let us know your special skills and we may need them. Examples: publicity, public relations, photography.
Set up, tear down, haul, and clean up with students from the Student Advisory Board (SAB)
Do whatever is needed at the time because the general volunteers help everyone.

*Parents of exhibitors – while parents cannot be in the hall on Judging Day, many parents volunteer to help because they are there! Parents know that GSDSEF can be a life-changing experience, so they often want to help. In the last couple of years we have been allowing a few parents to help, and this year we are encouraging parents with a couple of hours (or more) to assist.

Everyone at the GSDSEF Science Fair is a volunteer, even if they have worked for more than 40 years. We come back year after year to help the young scientists, to give back to an organization that gives a wonderful experience to so many, and for the good food and friendships at meal times.

Thank You Luncheon – all volunteers are invited to a luncheon on Sunday, April 23rd to give special thanks for a huge volunteer effort. Please let us know if you can come, and save the date!
